This is what I do and why you should care

At Ghostwriter Pilates, I work with people whose bodies do a lot.

Athletes. Authors. Cross-Fitters. Caregivers. Doctors. Dancers. Founders. Firefighters. Moms. Military. The common denominator? We all want a body that can keep up with our ambitions and daily grind.

This isn’t Pilates-as-usual. This is problem-solving through movement. We identify what’s getting in your way, retrain it at the source, and give you tools you’ll use everywhere—from the gym to your desk to the life that’s waiting for you when you finally feel aligned.

Here, we train smarter. You’ll learn exactly how to move, why it matters, and how to undo the patterns that keep you stuck.

I read bodies like manuscripts. And most people? They’re walking around in messy first drafts.

At Ghostwriter, we revise and restore movement.

You’ll learn to understand your body—why it’s stuck, where it cheats, and how to rewrite the patterns holding you back. We won’t slap a band-aid on symptoms. I’ll assess your movement patterns, then select exercises to help restore the capacity to move better or perform at a higher level. We’ll dig deep, get honest, and build something that works long-term.

Laurie Pillow is a certified STOTT PILATES® instructor, master trainer, and dancer with over 30 years of global teaching experience. She began her movement career in France and has spent the past two decades teaching in Latin America and the Caribbean, specializing in Pilates, Afro-Latin dance, and functional fitness.

She became certified in STOTT PILATES® Mat and Reformer in 1999 (through the advanced repertoire), and later developed Delírio®—a high-energy dance fitness method that blends African and Latin dance with Pilates principles.

Laurie’s additional training includes Total Barre™, Injuries & Special Populations, Biomechanics of Gait, and Athletic Conditioning. She holds a degree in French Linguistics from the Institut Catholique de Paris and master’s certificates in Haitian Studies and Broadcast Journalism.

Known for her infectious energy and precision, Laurie helps clients move with intention—and connect their physical progress to something deeper.
